My photography Hello!

My name is Joël Lopes Da Silva, and I am 20. I am currently student at the École Centrale Paris, a highly selective engineering school in France.

A few months ago, I bought this domain name, in order to learn how to manage it. But one of the important things I still had not done was an attractive personal website. That's why I decided to try Joomla!, a great CMS (Content Management System) which allows us to make complex websites without writing any code.

Well, let me tell you more about myself.

I am Portuguese, but I only lived in Portugal for very few years: when I was nearly 4 years old, I came to France, where I studied until now. As you can guess, I feel a lot more like I am French, now. Portugal is for me a good place for holidays. However, up to the end of High School, I studied Portuguese Litterature and History. I must say that I liked it very much.

Then, since mathematics was my favourite course, I went to the Lycée Henri-IV for a Classe préparatoire in Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science (MPSI/MP*). Although it has been a quite difficult time, I keep very good memories of this period.

All this work brought me to the École Centrale Paris, where I am finishing my studies. I started to learn Japanese there. Besides, I have been very involved in various organizations in this campus, such as VIA Centrale Réseaux (the organization which provides a high speed internet access to more than a thousand students in the Residence), or the GÉPÉO (the Asian Club of the campus).

My passion for Japanese culture even made me the president of the GÉPÉO on 2007. Although I have already retired from this responsibility, I continue enjoying Japanese culture by myself, or with some friends.

Moreover, I try to learn as many things I can about Computer Science, Software Engineering and Websites Conception in order to become a Software Engineer myself. As you will probably see it on this website, Japan is not the only thing I like: I also like Technology very much.

じゃ、またね。
